2026 Summer Programs
Fire Tenders for boys ages 8-10: June 22-25th 9-1pm
M-Th, $325 Registration is open!
Mentors Matt Bibeau and Evan Nix will guide a group of boys on an inward and outward exploration, with the land of Jean’s Farm and the surrounding forests, pond, springs and creek as the setting for discovery and adventure. Drawing on the four elements of fire, water, earth and air, each day will hold an inquiry into who we are and who we want to become. We will learn the art of tracking and the identification of wild medicinal and edible plants. We will pick berries and vegetables and cook snacks such as scones and soup. We will also learn the art of making fire responsibly in our outdoor kitchen ovens, culminating in a final pizza celebration. Each day will also include a group music-making session and sensory/accuracy games such as eagle eye and archery.
The boys should come wearing sturdy shoes that can get wet (like Keens), and bring a backpack with water bottle, lunch and a sun hat. All children are required to have sunscreen applied BEFORE arriving at camp.
Word Weaver Storytelling Camp: July 13-17th 9am-1pm
Registration is open! $380 (Ages 10+)
Nurturing the creativity of young writers, this camp will uplift each unique voice and guide them toward the creation of meaningful, imaginative storytelling. Thorough a supportive and encouraging environment, campers will be invited to explore their ideas freely, build confidence in their writing skills and discover the joy of putting their thoughts into words.
We will dive into a wide range of writing styles and genres, including personal narrative, magical realism, fantasy, poetry and more! We welcome experienced writers as well as those who are brand new to their creative writing journey. Everybody will be met with personalized support and encouragement to grow.
Our storytelling will be done in our own homemade leather-bound journals as a special keepsake for carrying our words long after the week has ended. We will also be engaging in many forms of artwork throughout the week that will ignite imagination and deepen the storytelling experience.
Yarrow is excited to host this camp each year as it consistently conjures impeccable imagination and ignites beautiful ideas that leave a lasting impact on everybody.

Wild Archer Nature Camp
Session 1: Aug 3-7th 9am-1pm
Session 2: Aug 10-14th 9am-1pm
Registration is open! Click session 1 or 2 above. $380 (ages 4-10)
Join Sharon and Yarrow for forest, garden, animal and archery adventures on our 7-acre forest farm in SE Portland! Days will be filled with a wide variety of activities including forest games, plant foraging, wildcrafting and learning farm skills. There will be water play, fruit and flower picking, garden dance parties and music making.
Each child will participate in daily archery and target practice with their own handmade targets and learn how to assemble and disassemble bows and arrows.
Coming prepared: Please send your child with a backpack that comfortably fits their water bottle, a hearty lunch and a sunhat or baseball cap. We ask that parents apply sunscreen each morning BEFORE your child arrives at the farm. Also, plan to send your child in sturdy shoes that can get wet, as well as in lightweight clothing (pants are better than shorts for forest play) that will dry quickly. They may wade and splash in our shallow pond during free time in order to keep cool. Please do NOT send your child in flip flops, crocs or slides as they do not provide enough support for exploring the farm.
We will have simple snacks available, such as seeds, carrot & celery sticks and/or sliced fruit.
**We offer need-based scholarships to all Jean’s Farm programming. If you or the communities you serve face systemic barriers to fair access to financial resources, please contact us in order to renegotiate fees for service.
